How to Apply for Emergency Cash Online

While you shouldn’t use short-term loans indiscriminately, they can be a way to get cash in an emergency. The process to apply for online personal loans is easy, and you can be on your way to getting financial help in just a few steps.

  • To begin applying for emergency cash, choose a loan company that offers the best value. You want to get the lowest interest rate and fees possible.
  • After choosing the loan company, gather any documents that you might need to apply for the loan. This information can vary from one company to the next, but some common documents that you may need include your social security number, your driver’s license number and tax information.
  • Next, begin the online application process. Be sure to read the application carefully as you work through it. If you are asked to provide bank account information when applying for a loan, look to see whether you have the option to receive the money in a different manner, such as through a wire transfer or by next-day or priority mail. If these options are available, you may want to choose that instead of giving out your bank info. If you have to give your bank information out, make sure you use a secure Internet connection.
  • After you fill out all the required information for online personal loans, submit the application and wait for the company to respond to your request for funds.

Even though applying for online loans is easy, you’re still entering into a legally binding agreement with a lender. Make sure you understand the terms and conditions before you apply.

Style on a Budget: Living Within Your Means

Gold Plated Jewelry

Living within your means, means only buying what can be paid for all at once. If the money isn’t there, then don’t get it; no credit can be used.

Shopping at offers.com is one way to save money, but there’s another way. For instance, Katie, a 23 year-old college student’s budget is very small. Tuition, books, rent and food take all her money; however, she still found ways to look good.

She made and handed out invitations to a ’New to You’ party and asked guests to bring one appetizer each. That way there was plenty of goodies at the party.

Take Some, Give Some, Living Within Your Means

The invitations explained the process; each person was to go through their closets and accessories and pick out things they haven’t worn in a long time. Everyone brought their items to Katie’s and set them out, as if on display. Then, at the given time, each girl went around to the other girls’ items and chose the ones they wanted.

Next was to trade. Say, Katie wanted this dress, so she asked the dress owner to look at her items and see if there was anything she wanted to trade for. The dress owner liked a pair of Katie’s shoes and a costume jewelry necklace, so they traded the shoes and necklace for the dress. Everyone at the party did this and at the end, everyone had “new” items to take home.

Being creative and resourceful is the ticket; one can also barter services for items wanted. Think about it, everyone can live within their means this way and still be very stylish.

The importance of having an emergency fund can never be stressed enough. However, this is something that many individuals don’t even think about having. Too often, people live for the moment with their money and do little to put something aside for a rainy day. Instead, it’s a common practice to rely on a credit card for any emergency. This is a habit that is sure to get you into trouble sooner rather than later.

The first step to take in creating a rainy day fund is to get rid of credit cards. Pay them down or eliminate them somehow, but don’t use them anymore. Credit cards have their uses, but you can get the same functions with a prepaid Visa card. Loading money onto a prepaid card helps you pay for what you need to buy for the month. You can then see how much cash you have left at the end of the month. There are a few options for what you can do with this cash:

  • Load the extra cash onto the card and forget it’s there. The money is safe and secure from theft, and it’s there when you need it.
  • Open a money market account. Let the money earn interest without tying up the funds in an account you can’t use.
  • Open a certificate of deposit. Your money will earn interest over specific periods of time. However, it is difficult to get your money out if you have an emergency.

Prepaid credit cards are the best place to start saving emergency funds. They’re flexible, secure and available when you need them.
